"The Purpose Of Life Is a Life Of Purpose"

“The purpose of life is a life of purpose” has been correctly quoted by Robin Sharma in one of his books that I was going through in the near past. On pondering over these lines I always get reminded of a dialogue made by Late Mr. Amrish Puri in a medieval hindi movie. The dialogue was delivered on the basis of an inference drawn while comparing his two sons. The line was ‘Jeene jeene mein hi to fark hota hai’. For movie buffs it is a cake walk to identify the movie. For others let me just increase your knowledge a bit. The name of the movie is Janbaaz. Coming back to the centre stage I just wanted to throw light on the self – realization in individuals. I thought that I was the only one who did not know what he actually wants from his life. But I was wrong. On just questioning I came to realize that I was not alone. On asking an individual the question that ‘What do you really want from your life?’ the answers that come seem hazy. Many people in the age group of 20 to 25 have the same problem. The major fault is that we don’t think on this matter. We don’t think about our own self. We don’t think and identify our strengths and areas of interest.

Man can only be happy if he has interest in what he does. Spending our days doing work that we find rewarding, intellectually challenging and fun will do more than all the spa vacations in the world to keep our spirits high and our heart engaged. My mom, who is a great supporter of the funda of continuous learning just by chance asked me once that what are you gonna do? She just wanted to know that whether I would be going for higher studies or not. She wanted the answer to be yes but on getting the answer as the antonym of it she was shocked. She told me that ‘You studied what your father wanted you to study, now as it is over you will stop? Don’t you have your own areas of interest and liking? Shame on you.’

I was quite disappointed to hear this but what could I have replied. This was the bare truth. So finally I came to a conclusion that I should start persevering to catch my dreams. This thought process should have come much earlier but it’s never too late.

If you are also traveling in the same bus of ignorance along with me then let me tell you that its never too late. Any time you choose is the rite time. Everyone lives his/her life according to his/her will but what is the difference between you and the rest of the people? What can you do by which you will be distinguished amidst of a crowd? Remember that whatever you do, do it in such a way that people are benefited from your effort. Give it a thought ‘NOW’.
